The importance of mental health has been given more attention in recent years, and the stigma of seeking professional help is slowly, but fortunately declining.
While effective mental health resources should be accessible to everyone, it’s equally important that groups who traditionally wouldn’t seek assistance be aware that there are safe spaces and professional services readily available to them.
One of these underserved groups consists of Caribbean males who typically aren’t socialised in their developmental years to be emotionally vulnerable.
With the Men Matter series, we inspire discourse on men articulating their emotions. Additionally, we’ll bring awareness to how failure to do so may adversely affect their mental health.
There’s no need to suffer in silence.
Men matter.
